Wh40k 5th edition tactica

The codex schedule seems possible though. Seems like this might one of the FAQs that have been rumored to be coming out soon. I believe all the changes he mentioned can be covered in an FAQ. The last FAQ on the 4th edition rulebook was something like 8 pages. As far as the Codex rumors, I can buy the IG rumor.

The Necron rumor - ehh I will believe it when I see it. Dark Eldar - no big surprise there, I don't why GW would ever have tried to do away with them. When convention and science offer us no answers, might we not finally turn to the fantastic as a plausibility? Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually. I don't think GW really knows what to do with the basic ruleset, and I think that Combat squads and general limitations on min-maxing, not to mention the backwards compatability of all codices is a sign that things aren't really changing.

Firefight is here to stay, in other words. There is still room to change rules in the name of making the basic game FUN. I'd like to see them start releasing books two at a time, but that's obviously not happening. Guard vs Orks would make a cool boxset. Battle for Armageddon? Fort Campbell. GW is getting ahead of themselves There are still armies out there with 3. Not to smart in my opinion. The rules are fine right now, if they'll just work on their FAQ 's a little more.

Get the Codex's updated first. No, they need to realize that they're going in the wrong direction, stop, and hit the refresh button. We need a ruleset that would necessitate a 40k style Ravening Hordes book. And then 2 types of 40k. And if I had two wishes for this holiday season, the second would be for all the children of the world to join hands and sing in the spirit of harmony and peace.

If they re-do the damage chart back to what it was in 3rd Ed and or change the vehicle rules, I can see it completely delivering a nice little blow to Mech Eldar.

Bring on V5! Screw the Panzees! I sincerely doubt there will be a full V5 next summer, for 2 main reasons: 1. New rulebooks are christmas releases. All the new versions of 40k and fantasy that i can remember have been released for the christmas market, and i started just before Fantasy 5th edition came out.

Its common sense, commercially. Therefore if there was to be an update next year, i doubt it would eb in the summer 2. Not all the codices have been updated yet. Ok, codecies don't always get redone every edition with fantasy, but 40k usually gets one for each army at least.

GW are primarily a modellin company, who produce rules so people buy those models. Cycling through each range once per edition would get more people buying models each cycle. Perfect rules are not of paramount importance.

Having said that, i would not discount updates or modifications to the rules ala the trial assault rules of 3rd edition. For Gods sake, you're going to die! Mmmm, I just started Cadians. SHame, I might have waited for greatcoat guard. OTOH I have seen rumours that say we're definately not getting them. Well, Brimstone over on Warseer has chimed in, and pretty much confirmed a new version of the rulebook.

There's no comment on timeframe, but based on his cryptic mumblings, it seems to be even less of a change than from 3rd to 4th. I'm disappointed, but not surprised. For those who don't know, Brimstone is pretty much the Warseer "it" guy. He knows what is going on with GW , he just usually holds his info very close to his vest.
