It is a hipster neighborhood, space to find your tribe. It can also be quite noisy near large streets. Great trails and one of the best dog parks in Los Angeles. We love walking the reservoir too. It is safe and comfortable. Totally different from anywhere else in Los Angeles. Everyone seems to be looking out for one another. I have a dog and everyone knows his name around my community.
The people I meet in my community are some of the most kind, genuine people I am proud to share a neighborhood with. It's great to take walks around the reservoir. Dog owners are friendly and so are the pups.
Community is great for dogs, with parks and nearby hikes. Perhaps walking the reservoir is an event? The coffee culture is great, however. There is a lot of cut through traffic in Silverlake that makes living here more difficult. Be careful of where you let your kids go unsupervised. Beautiful views and great neighborhood and neighbors.
